Customer Peer Invitations

The Peer Invitations page allows customer administrators to invite new peers to manage their organization. This feature simplifies user onboarding by generating and sending invitation links via email, allowing new peers to create accounts and gain access to customer resources according to predefined Peer Roles.

Customer Peer Invitations

This page is available only within the context of a specific customer account. Invitations managed here are visible and applicable exclusively within the customer’s own organization. Global administrators can view or manage these invitations only when switched to that customer’s space.

Interface Overview

The Peer Invitations page displays a list of all current and past invitations for the selected customer account. The table includes the following columns:

  • User Name — The username assigned to the invited peer.
  • Email — The email address to which the invitation link was sent.
  • Phone — Contact number provided during the invitation (if applicable).
  • Created — Date and time when the invitation was generated.
  • Expired — Date and time when the invitation expires if not accepted.
  • Resend — Allows the customer administrator to resend the invitation link.
  • Delete — Permanently removes the invitation record.

If no invitations exist, the list will display the message No records….

Creating a New Invitation

To invite a new peer:

  1. Click the + Create Peer Invitation button at the top of the page.
  2. Enter the recipient’s email address and any optional information (name, phone, or role, if required by policy).
  3. Select a predefined Peer Role that determines which sections and actions the invited peer will have access to.
  4. Click Send to dispatch the invitation link.

The invited user receives an email containing a unique activation link. Once they open it, they can define their password and gain access according to the role permissions assigned during invitation.

Managing Invitations

Administrators can manage existing invitations directly from the list:

  • Resend — Sends the same invitation email again if the recipient did not receive or respond.
  • Delete — Removes the pending invitation; the link will no longer be valid.

Expired invitations remain listed until deleted manually. To maintain clarity and prevent confusion, it is recommended to periodically remove outdated or unused invitations.

Access and Permissions

All access rights for invited peers depend on their assigned Peer Role. Roles define visibility and permissions for specific areas such as Subscriptions, Devices, Hosting Spaces, or Hosted Organizations. These roles are configured in the Peer Roles menu and are fully customizable, allowing granular control over available actions (View, Edit, Create, Delete) per module.

Because roles are customer-defined, available role names (for example, Customer Admin Peer or Web Developer) may differ between customers depending on their organizational structure and security policy.

Best Practices

  • Limit invitations to verified business or team emails to avoid unauthorized access.
  • Assign only the minimum necessary permissions through appropriate Peer Roles.
  • Regularly review and delete expired or unused invitations.
  • Encourage invited peers to activate their accounts promptly to ensure proper synchronization and audit tracking.
