    Hello,

Is there any documentation on how to setup a RDS farm (Server 2012 R2) and the implementation within MSPControl?

Karel, we don’t have docs for RDS yet, but feel free to contact me directly, I’ll tell you what to do.

    Denis,

The setup of the farm is not the problem…did that before, but are there some special settings to keep in mind.

Karel, we recommend to install together the following:

    Broker + Central NPS
    Gateway + Web
    Licensing could be anywhere.

MSPC Server RDS pool identity account should be domain admin.
And don’t forget to install certificate in RDS Service settings.

You can install MSPC Server on just Broker.

    Ok I did.
In MSP control now add the broker/NPS under Settings/Servers? Or direct under Settings/RDS Servers?

Add this MSPC Server to Settings>Servers and then add RDS service. You’ll see what to configure in it.

After filling (wrong info) i can’t get back to edit the services.
    Getting the next error:

    MSPControl Error

Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request.

Documentation on the specific settings within MSPControl would be appreciated.

    Karel,

I have run into the issue of trying to delete a server with services that could not be removed.

    Here is what i did.
    1. open SSMS (SQL management studio)
2 right click on the table Servers under your database tables
    3. Click on Select top 1000 rows
4 write down the server ID that you are looking to delete.
    5. Next right click on Services and select top 1000 rows, Write down any service that also has your server ID next to it.
    6. Only do if this service is not installed on other servers.
    A. right click on ServiceProperties and click edit top 200.
    B. Now using control key highlight any item with your Service ID that you had written down. Right Click on the sevice proerties and click delete.
    7. now right click on ServiceItems and edit top 200, again with control key select the items with your service id and right click and delete.
    8. now edit Services and delete your service.
9 now you should be able to delete your server from the Panel. or just start adding new services to it.

    Hope this helps.

    Jason S,

    Great post!
i can add the “Remote Desktop Services” again!
What settings do i need to set?

    – Allow Collections Import: on / off
    – Connection Broker: Internal FQDN?
    – Root OU: rootdomain\OU ?
    – Computers Root OU: rootdomain\OU\OU ?
    – Primary Domain Controller: Internal FQDN?
    – Use Central NPS: yes / no ?
    – Central NPS: Internal FQDN?
    – Gateway Servers: Internal or external FQDN?

Also a question one step earlier. On the server properties do i need to set the “Active Directory Setting”?

    Thanks for your help!

Karel, ensure that your session host server is alive, added to RDS farm and has disabled firewall.

    Still no luck. Same error.

I still don’t know the exact settings for the next:
    – Allow Collections Import: on / off
    – Connection Broker: Internal FQDN?
    – Root OU: rootdomain\OU ?
    – Computers Root OU: rootdomain\OU\OU ?
    – Primary Domain Controller: Internal FQDN?
    – Use Central NPS: yes / no ?
    – Central NPS: Internal FQDN?
    – Gateway Servers: Internal or external FQDN?

Also a question one step earlier. On the server properties do i need to set the β€œActive Directory Setting”?

    – Allow Collections Import: doesn’t matter if you don’t have any
    – Connection Broker: Internal FQDN
    – Root OU: just the OU name, like “Hosting”. The same what you have in HostedOrganizations module.
    – Computers Root OU: Just the OU name, like “HostedComputers”. Panel will put sessions hosts into this OU when you add host in panel.
    – Primary Domain Controller: Internal FQDN.
    – Use Central NPS: Yes.
    – Central NPS: Internal FQDN.
    – Gateway Servers: Internal or external FQDN?
